Computers at downtown Yakima Library

There are twelve Internet stations on the main floor of the library. The two Internet stations in the Children’s Room offer filtered Internet access and the other ten give users the option of filtered or unfiltered access.
In addition to the Internet stations there are four computer stations where users can create word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and drawing documents. There are seven computer stations where users can access premium databases, search the online catalog and schedule a computer session.
In the Gates Computer Lab, on the lower floor of the library, there are eleven computers for public use and instruction. These computers offer access to the Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and drawing programs. The Lab is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
You must have a valid Yakima Valley Regional Library card to schedule Internet appointments on the Downtown Yakima Library computers. You can use any of the public computer stations to schedule Internet time. If you have access to a computer at home, work, school, etc., you can also schedule an Internet appointment “remotely.” Just go to the library’s home page and click on “Schedule a Computer Session.” Internet sessions are limited to one hour per person per day.
