The old school bell in front of the library reflects our building's
history as one of the first schools in the East Valley School District. Built in 1911,
it was a school until 1946, when Terrace Heights joined Yakima Valley Regional Library.
Julie Randle was the first Terrace Heights community librarian. The building is owned by
the Terrace Heights Improvement Association, and the regional library shares the building
with a large community meeting hall next door, and business space below.
We use the meeting hall to host programs and parties. We are known for our fun
summer reading programs, from ice cream parties to petting zoos. We are also known as the
place to come for tea, books, and lively conversation during the weekly senior teas.
