The Southeast Branch is the newest addition to the Yakima Valley Regional libraries. It was opened at the Southeast Community Center on April 29, 1992, in response to the growing need for library service in the area. Many community groups contributed to initial costs and the opening day collection. In 1999, the library moved from a small office at the south end of the building to more spacious quarters next to the gym on the building's north end. A dedication ceremony for the new quarters was held on July 13, 1999.
The Southeast Branch is one of the six Regional Library sites with a Gates computer lab, and the lab is a magnet for use by area residents of all ages. In addition, we have a small, but lively, collection of books, magazines, CDs, videos, and DVDs in English and Spanish. You can also place holds for any items in the system, and pick them up at the Southeast Branch.
