History of the Selah Library

In 1962, the citizens of Selah approved a bond issue to construct a new fire station across the street from the old station, and to build out the current 2,791 square foot library in what previously were the fire truck bays. The earlier Selah Library was located entirely within what is now the reference room and staff area. Beginning in 1977, library service in Selah has been provided by the Yakima Valley Regional Library. In March, 2005, Selah residents voted to formally annex into the Regional Library system. The Selah Library is part of the Selah City Hall complex. Check out the book The Selah Story: History of the Selah, East Selah and Wenas Valley in Yakima County, Washington by Robert S. Lince.
