The local garden club started the Selah City Library in the storeroom of Sudnmeir’s Hardware in 1934. Since then it has grown to be the 4th busiest branch in the Yakima Valley Libraries system. Over 63,000 people use the Selah Library each year, and check out more than 72,000 items annually. In the course of a day, the Library hosts seniors accessing their e-mail and checking out books on CD, preschoolers being read to and doing crafts at storytime, and teens getting a start on their homework or picking up the latest graphic novel. Joyce Darling is the president and contact person for the Greater Selah Friends of the Library. Please contact the library for more information.
